- Local Organisations & AssetsWelcome to Grove Park, a neighbourhood boasting a rich history and a strong sense of community. Many of its community assets have been under threat over the years and the residents have come together many times, working tirelessly to protect and bring about change. The Grove Park Heritage Trail highlights some of Grove Park’s key community assets, all worth a visit when you are next about! A short profile of the neighbourhood, compiled by residents can be read here. In 2016, members of the community came together and formed a Neighbourhood Forum, with the purpose of working together to develop a Neighbourhood Plan. The group worked and consulted on an inspiring vision for Grove Park, and in August 2021 a referendum was held and the Neighbourhood Plan was approved.

Local news and volunteering! 📢 The Northbrook

Local news and volunteering! 📢

The Northbrook Park Wetlands Project shared the plans for the wetlands and stream restoration project at Grove Park Carnival & Dog Show last month. The plans include adding in a boardwalk and timber dipping deck to embrace the wetlands. It’s about making sure we have clean water and a beautiful, biodiverse park.

Email northbrookparkwetlands@lewisham.gov.uk for more information or if you would like to be involved.

Besides the above works they have confirmed the dates for the first two volunteering sessions. These will be run in partnership with Nature’s Gym (the regular weekly volunteer session run by the Council’s/Glendale’s nature conservation officers). The two sessions will be on 10th and 17th October between 11am-2pm and focus on the existing small pond which is in need of restoration and potentially some bramble clearance, and/or hazel coppicing.
