Our community ceramics project…
We offer hand-building courses for both adults and children each term and run holiday clubs and community events alongside our community partners. To find out more about these or sign up to our mailing list, please email your details to claygpcg@gmail.com.
Our courses cover all you need to know about working with clay, from building 3D forms to decoration and glazing.
The classes are great for beginners but are also suitable to those experienced with clay too. We explore different hand-building techniques; pinching, slab building and coiling. Students receive an excellent introduction to ceramics and clay sculpture. Once students have been introduced to the hand-building techniques, they then work independently with guidance and individualised tutoring from our ceramics tutor. Classes are taught in a relaxed, calm and inclusive environment.
The project and events are led by local Artist Lily German .
Our Ceramics Tutors include Lily German, Noah Defriend, Heera Gul, Francisco Zhan and Victoria Morris.
