Library Gardens Friends Group

Written by

Grove Park Library Gardens Friends was established in 2024 following the park being nominated for ‘London’s Saddest Playground’ in the London Play campaign.

The aim of the friends group is to make sure that the park can become a safe and happy place for children to play.  Grove Park Library Gardens is the closest play space to Coopers Lane Primary School and is on the site of an early years preschool and the community led library.  We are hoping that by working together we can, along with Lewisham Council and Glendale, transform this playground into the space it deserves to be.  If you are interested in our campaign and in supporting us, you can follow us on Instagram @groveparklibrarygardensfriends or email us at groveparklibrarygardensfriends@gmail.com.

Grove Park Library Gardens has play equipment suitable for under 5s including swings, small climbing frame and slide and spring rockers.  For older children there is a larger climbing frame and slide, swings and climbing apparatus and rocking board.  There is a large field space with mature trees.

Equipment such as footballs and goal posts can be borrowed from Grove Park Library during opening hours.
